What the app proxy means
The shopper sees the Shopify root domain, but Jurni serves the page behind the/apps/jurni/ route.
This is not the same thing as a native Shopify Page:
What changes after connecting a custom subdomain
When a custom Jurni subdomain is configured, Jurni page/Smart Link URLs can use that branded subdomain instead of the app-proxy fallback. Example:https://go.brand.com/summer-offer
The handle remains the campaign/page path, but the host changes to the connected Jurni domain.
Smart Links on the app proxy
Smart Links use the same URL host logic. If the Shopify shop has no custom Jurni subdomain, a newly created Smart Link can use the/apps/jurni/<slug> format. If a custom subdomain is configured, the Smart Link uses the custom host.
A Smart Link is still a routing layer—it can point to a single page or control an experiment. The /apps/jurni/ URL does not mean the Smart Link is a native Shopify Page.
When to use Shopify Pages instead
Use a native Shopify Page when you specifically need:- a
/pages/<handle>URL - the Shopify page-template/theme environment
- theme/app scripts that are already installed in Shopify and need to run natively on the page
