Do not compare totals before aligning definitions
Before investigating a discrepancy, make sure the reports use the same:- Date range
- Timezone
- Traffic scope
- Conversion definition
- Attribution window
- Currency
Common reasons numbers differ
Session definitions
Analytics tools define and reset sessions differently. A Jurni session should not be expected to match GA4 sessions one-for-one unless the definitions are intentionally aligned.Attribution models
Meta may credit a conversion to an ad using its attribution window while GA4 uses another model and Shopify reports the order without the same marketing attribution logic.Cross-domain transitions
A shopper can land on a Jurni subdomain and continue to a Shopify root-domain checkout. Jurni, Meta, and GA4 can each handle that transition differently.Consent
If a shopper declines tracking, some third-party tools may not fire or store identifiers even though the shopper can still purchase.Duplicate tracking
A duplicated Meta pixel, GTM container, or other tag can inflate the third-party event count.Reporting scope
Shopify can show all store orders while a Jurni report only includes orders attributed to the selected Jurni traffic.Debug one journey end to end
When the gap looks too large to be explained by normal attribution differences:- Open a test campaign URL with known UTMs.
- Confirm the Jurni page view.
- Trigger the expected product and cart events.
- Continue through checkout.
- Complete a test order when appropriate.
- Verify which events each platform received.
- Check whether campaign and click identifiers persisted through redirects.
What to send Jurni support
For faster debugging, include:- Exact landing URL
- Jurni experience URL or ID
- Date and approximate time of the test
- Order ID if a test purchase was completed
- Screenshots from the external analytics tool
- The specific metric you expect to match
