# Create your account and shop

> Follow Jurni onboarding, create or connect your brand's shop, complete billing, and then invite teammates without creating duplicate shops.

For a new brand, the sequence is **create your login → complete onboarding → create or connect your shop → complete billing → invite your team**. Your personal account and your brand's shop are related, but they are not the same thing.

<Note>
  Joining a team that already uses Jurni? Ask an admin to invite your email to the existing shop. You should not create another shop or set up separate billing just to collaborate.
</Note>

## Before you start

Use the work email you intend to keep using in Jurni. Have the brand's website address ready. For Shopify, the person connecting the store needs the Shopify access required to authorize the Jurni app. Have the person responsible for billing available to complete that step.

For a headless or non-Shopify storefront, involve someone who knows how the storefront, cart, and checkout are implemented. That information helps the Jurni team confirm the integration rather than treating every provider as a native Shopify connection.

## 1. Create your personal account

Open [Jurni](https://app.getjurni.ai) or the onboarding link shared with you and follow the account-creation prompts. Use the intended work email consistently.

Your login identifies you as a person. The **shop** created or connected during onboarding is where your brand's products, experiences, integrations, analytics, and team access live. A person with access to multiple shops can switch between them without creating a new personal login for each one.

## 2. Complete onboarding

Follow the onboarding screens shown for your account.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Tell Jurni about your business">
    Identify whether you are a brand or an agency. The onboarding flow can differ for these two cases.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Identify your existing store provider">
    In **Connect your Store**, select the provider your brand already uses. This identifies your current platform; it is not a recommendation to migrate to another one.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect Shopify or complete the assisted handoff">
    For Shopify, continue through the store connection and approve the Jurni app for the correct store. For providers such as WooCommerce, Salesforce, BigCommerce, or Other, follow the team-assisted onboarding steps shown, which can include booking a demo.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Let shop setup finish">
    Continue through the setup/finalizing screens. When the shop is ready, confirm that Jurni shows the expected brand or store name before configuring it.
  </Step>
</Steps>

See [Supported commerce platforms](/getting-started/choose-your-setup) for the distinction between the native Shopify connection and custom/headless implementation work.

## 3. Confirm your shop

The shop is the brand's working environment in Jurni; creating it does not create a replacement ecommerce store. Confirm that you are in the correct shop, especially when your team manages several brands or regional stores.

For Shopify, verify that the connected store is the intended store—not a development store or another region's store. For an assisted setup, confirm the storefront and checkout domains with the Jurni team.

## 4. Complete billing

After your shop is created, complete the billing or activation flow offered for that shop. Review the plan and terms shown there before confirming. Some accounts use an assisted sales/onboarding flow rather than the same self-service plan screen.

Return to Jurni after completing the flow and confirm that the shop is accessible. **An app installation or a completed login is not the same as completing your shop's billing setup.**

Do not start a second shop to work around an incomplete billing screen. Have the shop owner or your Jurni contact resolve the existing setup.

## 5. Invite your team

After billing is connected, open **Settings → Members** in the correct shop. Select **Invite Member**, enter the person's email, choose a role, and select **Send Invitation**.

The invitation roles are **Admin**, **Staff**, and **Designer**. Owner is not a role you assign through the normal invitation dropdown. See [Invite team members](/getting-started/inviting-team-members) for the complete workflow.

Each teammate should use their own login. An invitation to a Slack channel or a page review link does not add someone as a member of the Jurni shop.

## When something looks wrong

| What you see | What to check |
| ---------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Onboarding starts even though your team already has a shop | Confirm you used the invited email and accepted the invitation. Ask an admin to check your access before creating another shop. |
| The wrong brand or products appear | Check the active shop and the connected commerce store. |
| You cannot invite someone | Confirm billing setup is complete, you are in the right shop, and your role has invitation permission. |
| The provider connection needs technical information | Continue the assisted setup with the Jurni team rather than applying Shopify instructions to a different platform. |
