# Discounts and Promotions

> Understand how to pair Jurni offer messaging and product actions with Shopify discounts, discount codes, automatic discounts, and custom discount logic.

A promotion has two parts: **what the shopper sees on the page** and **what the commerce system actually charges**. Both must agree before you send traffic.

## For Shopify stores

The current offer picker has **Gift with Purchase, Free Shipping, Samples, and Discount Code**. Do not look for a separate, self-service tiered-pricing or arbitrary discount builder in Jurni.

## Choose the enforcement method

Your Shopify team may use a code-based discount, an automatic discount, product pricing, or an existing discount app. Use the method that supports the actual offer and purchase type. Confirm discount combinations in Shopify instead of assuming two offers will stack.

The current **Create Shopify Discount** control shown in some Jurni offer forms is disabled. An offer message, compare-at price, or savings badge does not create a discount.

## Brief an AI edit correctly

> Update this Buy Box to explain the approved offer: \[offer]. Keep the connected product, variants, quantities, subscription choices, and purchase action unchanged. Use the existing discount implementation; do not replace dynamic prices with a typed promotional price.

Then test the result. AI can help present the offer, but the final cart and checkout determine whether it is working.

## Non-Shopify and headless purchases

Agree the offer implementation with the Jurni team and your commerce developer. A landing page can link to your store's product page or a valid checkout link; a custom cart API integration can support a different purchase journey. Shopify-specific discount settings do not configure these providers.

## Launch check

Test one qualifying purchase and one that should not qualify. Check the actual item, quantity, selling plan, gift, discount, shipping, and final total. Repeat for the publishing method, market, and cart your campaign will use. Change the cart after qualifying so you also check whether eligibility is recalculated correctly.
