# Find products and understand variants

> Find the correct product in Jurni, inspect catalog filters and scope, and distinguish product variants, purchase plans, and page presentation.

A **product** is the item in your connected commerce catalogue. A **variant** is a purchasable option of that product, such as a size or flavor. A subscription **selling plan** is another part of the purchase—not a different name for a variant.

## Find a product in Jurni

    Check that you are in the correct shop, then open **Products**. Search by the product name and review the available status filters.

    For Shopify, **Manage products** controls the catalogue available to the product list, editor, and AI. If a product is missing, check that scope as well as the product's Shopify availability.

  <Step title="Open Edit Product Data">
    Open the product to manage its Jurni content and presentation. This drawer is not the Shopify screen for creating products, changing inventory, or setting a price.

## What to edit where

| Change                                                                         | Where to make it                                                                           |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Create a Shopify product or variant; change price, inventory, or selling plans | Shopify and the relevant commerce/subscription app.                                        |
| Maintain reusable benefits, detail text, curated reviews, or variant media     | **Products → Edit Product Data** in Jurni.                                                 |
| Change a page's product selection, purchasing action, or layout                | The Buy Box or relevant element in the Jurni editor.                                       |
| Configure a promotion's qualifying conditions                                  | **Offers** for the supported Shopify flow, with the actual discount configured in Shopify. |

For headless and non-Shopify stores, the connected catalogue and purchase rules come from the agreed commerce integration. Contact the team when the imported data or purchasing behavior needs changing.

## Variants versus linked products

The **Variants** tab in Edit Product Data includes presentation options such as swatches. It can also hold linked-product options used by supported components. A flavor stored as a separate product is not automatically a variant of the currently selected product.

Changing a swatch label or color in Jurni does not create a new Shopify variant. Test that the visible selection still purchases the correct real item.

## Connect the product to a page

Use [Add a Buy Box](/products/add-buy-box) to place a purchasing section and select the actual product. Review its variants and purchase types in preview, then verify the selected product, variant, quantity, and plan in the final cart or checkout.

A product title typed into a heading does not connect a product. Copying a page or switching a Buy Box's product also requires checking any separately configured review SKU, gift, or link.
