# Products and Buy Boxes in Jurni

> Understand the connected catalog, shared product content, page-level Buy Box, and purchasing action before configuring a shoppable experience.

A **product** is what you sell. A **Buy Box** is the purchasing area on a page: it presents the product, lets shoppers make the supported choices, and sends that selection to cart, checkout, or another destination.

A Buy Box is not necessarily a full product detail page. You can place it inside a longer campaign page with education, reviews, and FAQs.

## The workflow

<Steps>
  <Step title="Make the real product available">
    Find the product in **Products** and check its variants and subscription plans in the connected commerce system. For Shopify, check **Manage products** if the item is missing from the editor or AI product picker.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Prepare reusable product content">
    Open **Edit Product Data** for benefits, product details, curated reviews, and variant media. Skip this step for content that should exist only on this campaign page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add and connect the Buy Box">
    In the editor, add the purchasing section and select the actual product. Set the supported purchase choices and action. A product name typed into the design is not a product connection.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Refine the layout">
    Use the visual controls or AI to adjust copy, images, spacing, and the mobile/desktop layout. Preserve the real product selection and working purchasing controls.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test the purchase, then publish">
    Test the default selection and important alternatives. Verify the product, variant, quantity, subscription plan, discount, and final amount in the intended cart or checkout.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Start with [Add and configure a Buy Box](/products/add-buy-box) for the page steps.

## Reusing a purchasing design

A **template** is a starting design. A reusable section or shared Buy Box can have a different update scope from an ordinary local section. Before editing an existing shared purchasing area, check what the editor says will be updated.

[Saved Sections](/building-funnels/saved-sections) create independent inserted copies; [Global Sections](/build/global-sections) remain linked to shared content. Do not assume duplicating a whole page makes every shared section independent.

## Shopify versus other storefronts

Shopify has the native product connection. Jurni-hosted pages and native Shopify Pages use different cart environments, so test the destination you will actually publish.

For headless or non-Shopify brands, agree the [purchase path](/commerce/non-shopify-purchase-flows) with the Jurni team first: cart API, direct checkout, store product-page link, or a custom solution. Do not build selectable options that the destination cannot purchase.
